Voice Made Visible is an educational program in PUBLIC PRESENTATION SKILLS for executives, teachers, lawyers, politicians, actors and singers.

By 'public performance skills' we mean physical, vocal, and mental skills that allow us to communicate in public with energy, clarity and charisma.  These qualities CONVINCE the audience of our point of view.  

VMV was created by Mimi Seton in 2000 in Los Angeles. A long-time acting and singing teacher at top European universities and theatres, Seton branched out in 1996 to work with employees of Microsoft, university teachers, and members of the Irish government ~ using techniques from Theatre training, marshall arts, meditation/visualization and cognitive therapy's brainchild: NLP.

The VMV program has 2 parts: TECHNIQUE and AWARENESS

In the technique segment of the work, we use a paradigm: The 5 Basic Tools (of the speaker or singer). These are: your spine, facial muscles, hands, eyes and of course, your voice.  In a safe environment, we help clients become aware of where they are holding back their energy,  working on each tool separately so as to isolate the issues very specifically. Then we help you let go of these entanglements so you can begin to shine with your true power.  In a way, it's a 'Zen' approach:   we take away the blocks, and THERE YOU ARE in your FULLNESS!   It's a really fun process.   A free and disciplined body, voice, and mind has the kind of power that rivets audiences and makes people WANT to listen to every idea.  It is your ability to be fully PRESENT that convinces people (often unconsciously) that you are worth listening to.   This is charisma.  And charisma is largely to do with knowing how to energize your body and voice, and how to focus those energies very specifically.

In the second part of the work we address your heart (passion) and mind (beliefs) ~ your relationship to your material.  We help you clarify exactly WHAT YOU ARE SAYING and WHY. Why is it important to communicate your ideas?  Where is your real PASSION in the speech ~ your personal connection to the material?   When you have found your passion and developed the technical skills necessary, you transform from someone who feels panicky in front of a crowd to someone who can't wait to jump onto that stage again.  You move from FEAR of being judged to the JOY of communicating well. This is a big psychological step for anyone ~ and it stands you in good stead for all areas of your life ~ not just your business life.  We celebrate your ability to be MORE of who you really are.

Overall:   Our mission?  To help you transform something you find scary into something you LOVE:  getting up in public ~ and with clarity, power and naturalness, getting your message across to a crowd.  No matter how large!
